Prayer OpportunitiesMass at St. Andrew'sSunday: 7:30am, 9:30am, 11:30am, 5:30pmMonday: 12:15pm Tuesday: 7:00pm Wednesday: 7:00pm Thursday: 6:30am Friday: 9:00am Saturday: 5:30pm (Anticipatory Mass) MassThe celebration of the Eucharist within the Mass is "the source and summit of the Christian life" (CCC #1324). All other Catholic sacraments, prayer, and works point toward the Eucharist. There are many opportunities in the area to take part in the Eucharistic celebration, including those at St. Andrew's. In the past, many high school students have gathered before school on Thursday mornings at the 6:30 Mass. In addition, Mass is celebrated throughout the day at other area churches, and at the Chapel at Domino's Farms. Eucharistic AdorationBesides receiving Jesus in the Eucharist at Mass, we also Adore Jesus in the Eucharist outside of Mass. On Thursdays during the school year, from 7:00am - 9:00pm, we offer Eucharistic Adoration. The youth of St. Andrew's are the committed adorers from 8:00pm-9:00pm. During this time, we have scripture reading, music, and silent prayer time. All youth, families, and parishioners are invited to come to Adoration during this time, or any time throughout the day when there is Eucharistic Adoration (consult bulletin).
Prayer at SchoolThere are also a few opportunities for prayer at school. One of these is See You At The Pole, an annual prayer event around the flagpoles at schools nationwide, and even worldwide. This year's See You At The Pole is Wednesday, September 29, 2011. For more information on the day, visit the See You At The Pole website.Furthermore, for several years now, a group of students has gathered every morning at Saline High School to start their morning together with prayer. Students gather and hang out on the 3rd floor, outside of the auditorium, and pray together for a few minutes prior to the warning bell.
Sacred ScriptureImmerse yourself in God's inspired Word and His truth by cracking open your Bible. Don't have one? Don't have it with you? Don't sweat it! The USCCB has got you covered with its online Bible.
Liturgy of the HoursThe Liturgy of the Hours is the prayer of the Church. All priests and religious are bound to say some portion of the Liturgy of the Hours. This website contains all of the prayers for each day of the Liturgy of the Hours, if you would like to pray some portion of it yourself.
